While Vanuatu has many exciting places to explore, there's a few things you should know before embarking on your wondrous travels!

Most of our rental vehicles in Vanuatu are Left Hand Drive and may be driven on unsealed roads to access Holiday Accommodation, National Parks or if roads are under repair, however, due to the nature of the weather conditions in Vanuatu, unsealed road conditions vary greatly and may only be accessible by a 4WD vehicle. Ask our Hertz staff about suitable vehicles for your travel needs.

 

While we wish you to have a lovely journey and get the most out of your travels, Hertz advises that conditions can change from day to day and all road users are encouraged to exercise due care and not to proceed if road conditions are unsuitable.

To help set your minds at ease, Hertz offer these Optional Extras:

Child Seats:

Child seats are available for rent at VUV 1000 per day and are capped at VUV 5000 per rental.

These must be requested at the time of reservation and cannot be guaranteed without pre-booking.

 

Note: It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that the correct seats have either been pre booked or their own seats have been provided. It is also important to note that regulations in Vanuatu do not require vehicles to be fitted with anchor points for child restraints. As such, child seats provided can only be secured by seat belts.

Delivery and Collections:

We can deliver to Hotels, Resorts and airports within Port Vila for free, however if you require a delivery or pick up to a Hotel or Resort outside of Port Vila, fees may apply.

Afterhours Airport pick ups:

Hertz Vanuatu will meet any incoming flight with a confirmed booking.

You can also return your Hertz vehicle to the airport when you are ready to travel home. Fees May apply.

Driving restrictions:

Hertz vehicles are not permitted to be driven on any Beach or exposed to Salt Water.

Any damages caused to the vehicle for driving in unresticted areas will be the full responsibility of the Renter.

Check with our Hertz staff on collection for more information on where it is safe to drive.

Excesses and liability:

All vehicles carry a standard excess of VUV 150,000

Excess Reduction Fee (ERF) is available for all rentals at VUV 1500 Per Day.

This will reduce your standard Excess to VUV 25,000
